Bullet Misses Sleeping Child in Atlantic County Shootout

Detectives say one of the bullets went into a home and just missed a child sleeping in a bed.

It was a close call for a sleeping child during a shootout in Atlantic County Thursday.

Police say around 5 p.m. a shootout between two vehicles on the 1000 block of Magellan Avenue sent bullets flying throughout the neighborhood. 

Detectives say one of the bullets went into a home and just missed a child sleeping in a bed. Police recovered the bullet next to the child’s bed.

Investigators say at least 14 shots were fired on the street.

Police arrested one suspect who ran into a nearby home.
