Bulldog Blog: Under Construction

An update on the Lower Merion High School building project

The sounds of jackhammers and chainsaws all day can be a little distracting while trying to get schoolwork done. But, for students at Lower Merion High school (myself included) we deal with those sounds knowing what they mean -- a new multi-million-dollar high school.

The construction, which caused quite an eyesore for surrounding neighbors of the school, had a promising new development -- just last week the final piece of steel was installed. A ceremony took place as all the seniors, who will not be here for the new school, got to sign the last piece of steel before it was raised and constructed.

If you’re driving by anytime soon you can see that piece. It’s the only one painted white right in front.

The new school should be unbelievable when it is finished. We’re going to have brand new state of the art science labs and a black box theater similar to the ones used at colleges -- very rare for a high school.

My favorite new addition -- the television studio, of course.
