Bulldog Blog: Parade Hopes Dashed for Most at Lower Merion

Brady McHale, a sophomore at Lower Merion, will be giving readers an inside look at high school throughout the school year.

Parade dreams ended Wednesday night as things at Lower Merion started to get back to normal.

It would have been nice to get another day off of school for a parade down Broad Street with our Phillies, wouldn’t it?

For many students at Lower Merion they found themselves sluggishly getting out of bed Thursday morning. They wished they could stay home and gone back to sleep after staying up past their bedtimes to see the Phillies lose to the Yankees in Game 6 of the World Series.

But, don’t think it was just the kids who wanted to go back to sleep. There were a number of teachers who would’ve loved that extra rest too.

I noticed there were some students who were happy that morning. A few kids who said their parents are from New York, which apparently makes them Yankee fans, were glad to see their team beat their “hometown” team.

For us Phillies fans at school we just looked forward to next year and a chance of revenge on those “Damn Yankees.”
