Three Council Rock Sophomores Die in Crash

School to have grief counselors on hand

A Bucks County high school and community grieved Sunday -- a day after three sophomores at Council Rock High School died when an SUV carrying them overturned on a northeast Pennsylvania road.

School officials identified the three teenage boys killed in the single-car crash as Shamus Digney, Cullen Keffer and Ryan Lesher.

"It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the deaths of three sophomores at Council Rock High School South," said Mark Klein, Council Rock School District's superintendent. "They were involved in a terrible automobile accident."

The crash happened Saturday morning in Paupack Township, Wayne County, according to authorities.

The accident is under investigation.

All three boys were athletes at the school, according to John Radick, the assistant principal and athletic director at Council Rock South.

"It is devastating to the school community, to their friends, their teammates," Radick said.

The high school, located in Holland, Pa., will offer counselors to students and their families beginning  Monday. The school will open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Labor Day.
