Hit-&-Run Driver Strikes Woman

A woman was left in critical condition after she was struck while leaving an area mini-market along a busy road.

And, the driver that struck the unidentified victim along Bristol Pike (U.S. Route 13) near 6th Avenue in Bristol, Pa. Monday morning kept on driving.

According to Bristol Police, the 41-year-old woman was trying to cross the street when a sports utility vehicle -- possibly a Mercury -- ran into her around 3:30 a.m.

The hit-and-run driver fled the scene leaving the woman in the roadway with head injuries. She was rushed to Aria Health - Torresdale in critical condition.

Route 13 was closed for more than one hour as police investigated the crash.

No word yet on the exact make of the SUV.

This crash happened about 3 miles down Route 13 from a deadly pedestrian crash Sunday in Tulleytown, Pa.

Monday's came on the same morning that a man crossing a South Jersey intersection was struck and killed.

Galloway Township police say the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

They say an initial investigation showed that a 52-year-old woman from Little Egg Harbor was driving northbound on Route 9 when she struck 61-year-old Galloway resident William Williams at the corner of Lilly Lake Road.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the accident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.
