Boy Allegedly Stabbed by Mom Released From Hospital

A 2-year-old central Pennsylvania boy is out of the hospital after suffering injuries in a stabbing.

The toddler's mother, 36-year-old Candis Bradshaw of Fairview Township in York County, remains hospitalized at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Mother and son were found by the family's housekeeper, who called police about 8:30 a.m. Friday. Police said the boy's father wasn't home at the time.

Police said it appears Bradshaw slashed the boy twice on both sides of his neck with a large kitchen knife before stabbing herself in chest.

Investigators are looking into any mental health issues that may have contributed to the incident. They said criminal charges may be filed after medical and psychological treatments are completed.
