NJ Man Admits Strangling Girlfriend: Prosecutor

Faces 30 years in prison after pleading guilty in Nov. apartment killing

Prosecutors say a central New Jersey man has admitted strangling his girlfriend during an argument in her apartment last year.

Noel Irizarry, 41, of Hamilton Township pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated manslaughter in the Nov. 7 death of 31-year-old Misty Ramos.

He faces a 30-year state prison term when he's sentenced June 1.

Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi says Ramos was found when police went to her Bordentown Township apartment on Bradford Court after relatives became concerned when she didn't pick up her son as planned.

Irizarry's $1 million bail was revoked after he entered his plea. Under the plea deal reached with prosecutors, he will have to serve 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
