Bonnie Sweeten's Dad Charged in Attack

William Siner said he "just lost it"

The father of abduction hoax mom Bonnie Sweeten was in court to face his own charges Thursday -- one week after attacking  television photographers. He was charged with three counts of simple assault.

Siner said he "just lost it" when he came out of the courtroom, according to court documents.

Siner's daughter had just been told she'd have to spend up to 24 months in jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges in her case. Siner walked out of court and into the glaring lights of cameras and questions from reporters. He said he wasn't prepared for all that.

Siner pushed NBC10 photographer Greg Durgin to the ground. The entire scene was caught on tape.

Siner was quickly escorted out of the courthouse and ended up at a local hospital that night to be checked out for a diabetic condition.

The photographers were treated at the scene.

Sweeten's abduction hoax in May made national headlines when an Amber alert went out. The Bucks county mom had called 9-1-1, saying she was carjacked by two black men who forced Sweeten and her nine-year old daughter out of SUV and into the trunk of another car. Sweeten was tracked down two days later, with her daughter, at a hotel inside the Disney World complex.

Financial and relationship issues apparently became too overwhelming for the suburban mother of three. She admitted last week in court that she ran off because she couldn't figure out how she would repay stolen money. Sweeten is under investigation by the federal government for allegedly siphoning up to $300,000 from family, friends and acquaintances.

Her husband, Larry "Richard" Sweeten, filed for divorce shortly before her sentencing.
