A portion of Philadelphia International Airport was placed on lockdown Monday after a suspicious bag was found.
The unattended briefcase was discovered inside Terminal A around 7 p.m., officials say.
The Philadelphia Police Bomb Squad and Airport Police evacuated the terminal as they worked to figure out what was inside.
They eventually enclosed the briefcase in a blasting shield and detonated it in the terminal, officials say.
The bag turned out to have a notebook computer inside, but no explosive materials.
Officials continued to keep the arrivals section of Terminal A under lockdown following the detonation.
There were no injuries. All airport operations were back to normal late Monday night.
