Fisherman Finds Body in Pennsylvania's Susquehanna River Dead for Weeks

A coroner is working to identify the body of a man found in a central Pennsylvania river by a man who was fishing.

York County Coroner Pam Gay says she's not able to determine the race or age of the body found Saturday morning in Fairview Township, near New Cumberland. The body was found in the Susquehanna River, about 700 yards away from a Pennsylvania Turnpike overpass.

Gay is hoping an autopsy Monday will help identify the man, as well as pinpointing how he died.

She says it appears the man had been dead for weeks.
