Body Pulled From River

A crabber found a woman's body floating in the Delaware River this morning.

Delaware City firefighters pulled the unidentified body from the water near Salem Cove south of Pea Patch Island -- that’s a short distance northwest of Delaware City and about six miles south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge -- around 6:30 a.m.

Delaware State Police, the organization investigating, didn’t identify the woman pulled from the river.

The woman's body was turned over to the medical examiner to determine her identity and possibly how she died.
