Car Flips, Man Dies

A deadly crash where a car flipped multiple times closed a major roadway for more than five hours this morning.

The single-car wreck closed the Blue Route (I-476) southbound around Exit 13 (Route 30 - Saint Davids/Villanova) around 2:10 a.m.

The driver, Edward Harre, was thrown from the vehicle after it struck a median resulting in it flipping over multiple times before coming to a rest on its roof, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Medics declared Harre dead at the scene, according to police.

Drivers trying to get past the crash scene were sent off the Blue Route at Exit 13, past the crash scene and back onto highway on the on ramp. Police suggested drivers avoid the scene as the morning rush began.

After more than five hours, the roadway reopened around 7:30 a.m.

Police said it appeared no other cars were involved in the wreck. The exact cause of the crash remained under investigation Friday afternoon.
