The Bill Cosby sex assault trial that ended in a mistrial cost Montgomery County $219,100.
Costs for the high-profile trial included employee overtime and "the selection, transportation and accommodations of jurors from Allegheny County," the county commissioners said in a news release Thursday.
The biggest cost of the trial that ended on June 17 was $98,600 for sheriff's office overtime, the county said.
"The difficult work and extra attention the case of the Commonwealth vs. William Cosby required was met with planning, preparation and problem solving from Montgomery County employees across a number of departments,” Montgomery County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Dr. Val Arkoosh said. "I want to extend my deepest gratitude for the hard work and professionalism that our county employees showed throughout the trial."
That hard work ended without resolution as the jury was deadlocked, unable to reach a verdict in the comedian's case after more than 52 hours of deliberations.
Cosby is set to be tried again in November on charges he drugged and molested a woman more than a decade ago.
