Police say a New Jersey man participating in an eastern Pennsylvania gun club event ended up in the hospital after accidentally shooting himself.
Bethlehem Police Deputy Chief Todd Repsher told The Express-Times that the man was at the Steel City Gun Club on Tuesday as part of a program put on by the National Rifle Association and hosted in part by the Bethlehem Police Department.
Repsher said city police handled the incident and sent the man to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening leg injury.
The man's name was not released.
Several police and security agencies were taking part in the program, including two Bethlehem police officers.
This accidental shooting came on the same day that a Philadelphia teen was accidentally shot while playing with a gun.
