Berks County Teen Made Creepy Clown Threats To Get Out Of Class: Officials

A 16-year-old student is facing criminal charges in Pennsylvania after posting threatening clown messages to a social media account because she didn't want to go to school.

Berks County detectives say the girl admitted to posting the messages on Oct. 4 from her West Lawn home, about 70 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The Wilson School District student threatened violence at four other Berks County school districts because she thought school officials would cancel classes, according to authorities.

The Berks County district attorney filed seven charges against the girl, including multiple counts of terroristic threats.

Detectives searched the girl's home Thursday and seized electronic devices believed to be used in the incident.

She is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
