Forest Fire Leads to Evacuations in Berks, Chester Co.

People living near French Creek State Park are being evacuated

A forest fire is burning at French Creek State Park in Berks and Chester County. Nearby homes were evacuated Tuesday morning. 517 acres have burned so far.

Some Berks County residents are staying at an emergency shelter at the Immaculate Conception Social Hall in Birdsboro. Evacuated Chester County residents are being cared for at the Immaculate Conception church in Douglassville.

Investigators say three minor injuries have been reported. No word yet on the cause of the fire.
