Teen Dies in Del. Barbershop Shooting

Police search for person(s) responsible for deadly shooting in New Castle

A teenager was killed inside a New Castle, Del. Barbershop Sunday night.

Officers were called to the DWAR Studio Barbershop and Salon just before midnight Sunday for the reports of shots being fired, according to a press release from Delaware State Police.

When officers arrived on the scene they found Airrion Yancey, 18, of New Castle dead of a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.

The official cause of death was pending an autopsy, investigators said.

There were shell casings in the parking lot of the Star Center on the 3100 block of New Castle Avenue where the barbershop is located, cops said.
