Baby Death Ruled a Homicide: Cops

Upper Darby Police announced during a press conference on Sunday that the death of a 4-month-old baby last November has been ruled a homicide.

Five months after the death of a 4-month-old baby, Upper Darby Police have ruled the death a homicide. The announcement was made during a press conference Sunday at 2 p.m.

Jaden Jones was found unresponsive at a home on the 100 block of North Fairview in Upper Darby back on November 10. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

An autopsy revealed the child suffered head trauma and a fractured leg, according to investigators. His death was ruled a homicide. Since the ruling, police say the baby’s mother and three other people living inside the home where he was found are no longer cooperating in the investigation.

“The family and the friend know who did it, there’s no doubt in my mind,” said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. “They’re not coming forward and they’re not cooperating. So we have to continue an investigation without any cooperation. That child was murdered in that house, period. It wasn’t a stranger coming in, it wasn’t an abduction, it was something that occurred inside that house. My hope is whoever is responsible for the child’s death, there conscience is bothering them. Hopefully we can make an arrest in this case so we’re looking for any information we can get.”
