Autopsy Reveals Cause of Child's “Suspicious” Death

The cause of death has been determined in the sudden passing of a 6-year-old Southwest Philadelphia boy. An unidentified infection took the life of the boy who was found covered in blood in his bed Wednesday afternoon, investigators said.

Blood covered the boy's face, mouth and the sheet he was lying on when his father couldn’t wake him. There were no visible signs of abuse, according to investigators and the blood on the sheet was consistent with a nosebleed.

However, investigators had considered the death suspicious due to the boy's age and his lack of a medical history.

The boy's family had just moved to the area last month.
