Owner of Auto Repair Shop Shoots Robber: Police

The owner of a Philadelphia auto repair shop opened fire on a robbery suspect Saturday night, according to police.

Police say a 30-year-old man entered an auto repair shop on the 6800 block of Paschall Avenue at 6:32 p.m. and tried to rob the business. The owner of the shop, who was armed, opened fire, striking the suspect once in the chest, once in the right shoulder and once in the right buttock, according to officials.

The suspect was taken to Presbyterian Hospital by police. Officials have not yet revealed his condition.
