Aunt of Drowned Boy Charged With Endangerment

The aunt of a 2-year-old boy who drowned last week in a Monroe Township lake was arrested for child endangerment.

On August 1, police say that Felicia Tucker, 26, was babysitting her 2-year-old nephew at a home that she shared with the boy’s family in Monroe Township.

The boy, who police say was autistic, left the home that night. Tucker called police after finding the front door open and the boy missing. She and a friend then discovered the child in a nearby lake drowned in three feet of water.

The boy was taken to Kennedy Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after 11 p.m.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office say that Tucker caused the child to be endangered “by allowing him to leave the residence and drown,” according to a press release.

Tucker was arrested on Tuesday and released on her own recognizance. She is charged with second-degree endangering of a child.
