Attackers Stab UDel Football Player in the Neck

    The attack left the football player with two stab wounds.

    A gang of men stabbed a University of Delaware football player in the ribs and neck Saturday, said Newark Police.

    The attacked happened around East Cleveland Avenue near North Chapel Street in Newark, Del.

    Four guys attacked an unidentified 22-year-old Blue Hens' football player while he was walking in the area, police said.

    He was treated a Christiana Hospital and later released.

    The suspects were all described as white males in their early 20's. One of the men was wearing a white t-shirt and was described as heavy set, about 6-foot, 1-inch and 240 pounds with short hair. The other three guys were just described as smaller in stature, said police.
