Arrested Woman Kicks Out Police Car Window

Woman wasn't wearing shoes at the time

A 30-year-old woman in New Castle, Del., who was arrested for domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child, kicked out a police car window early Saturday morning.

After her arrest around 3 a.m., police handcuffed and seat belted Danielle Balback of Revelle Street in the back of a police cruiser.  Moments later, Balback undid her seat belt and, using her bare feet, kicked out the rear window of the car.

Balback suffered minor injuries to her feet and asked to be brought to the emergency room.  Once there, she refused to be seen by a doctor, officials said.  She was then brought to a holding cell to sober up and additionally charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, according to police.

Balback is awaiting arraignment.
