Arrest Made in Shooting of Pregnant Teen

Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with shooting a pregnant Pennsylvania teenager last month, killing her fetus.

Court papers show that Eric Taylor of Duquesne was arrested Tuesday. He's facing criminal homicide and other charges in last month's shooting of 15-year-old DaRae Delgado, who was seven months pregnant when she was shot by someone who knocked on the door of her home, covered the peephole and then opened fire when she answered.

Delgado's mother told local media that she knows Taylor's family and is shocked.

Authorities say Taylor will be charged as an adult. He was being held in the Allegheny County Jail on charges related to another shooting at the time of his arrest.

Delgado survived the shooting.

β€œThey let me see him," Donald Crawford, Delgado’s boyfriend and the father of her child, told NBC affiliate WPXI. "He had my nose and my ears. He was a spitting image of me. I never saw a lifeless baby. I just held him. He was cold. It just made me think about a lot of things and regrets.”

No attorney was listed on court papers. A hearing is scheduled for June 18.
