Taj Carjacking Couple Get Decades for Murder

Woman gets 30 years, ex-boyfriend gets 120 years behind bars for casino carjacking, killing

A woman who pleaded guilty in the carjacking and murder of an Atlantic City casino patron cried as she apologized for not stopping it.

“I am sorry for your loss, I should have stopped it and I didn’t,” Jessica Kisby told Martin Caballero’s family.

Kisby showed a different side in court Thursday. When she testified at her ex-boyfriend's trial last month, Kisby giggled and yawned on the stand.

A judge sentenced Kisby under a plea deal to 30 years without parole for murdering Caballero, 47, of North Bergen.

A jury in April convicted the ex-boyfriend, Craig Arno, of the murder. He was sentenced to 120 years in prison.

The pair cornered the victim in the parking garage of the Trump Taj Mahal in 2010, stabbed him to death and set his new SUV ablaze in an attempt to cover up the crimes.

At the sentencing, Superior Court Judge Michael Donio called Arno a “career criminal” who “must be taken out of society for the remainder of his natural life,” according to a release from county prosecutors.

Without the possibility for parole until 85 percent (102 years) of his sentence is served, Arno won’t see the light of day again.
