Armed Robbers Break Into Northeast Philadelphia Home, Hold Legally Blind Man at Gunpoint

Armed robbers burst into a Northeast Philadelphia couple's home overnight and held the husband, who is legally blind, at gunpoint.

Police say the couple, who are in their 40s, were in their home on Hellerman Street near Cranford Avenue, in Oxford Circle, early Tuesday evening when two armed men went into the home through the front door.

The men held a gun to the legally blind husband's neck in the home and stole $275 and the homeowner's handgun before fleeing.

The entire incident was captured on the couple's home surveillance system, police said. The men fled in a black Jeep Wrangler.

No arrests were reported Wednesday.
