Armed Robberies Rock West Chester

West Chester students and residents are on alert after two guys robbed several people at gunpoint last weekend.

All of the incidents happened within minutes of each other, in the same general area near the West Chester University campus last Saturday, police said.

The first incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. Saturday when the suspects attempted to rob two men at Church and Dean Streets.

Almost 10 minutes later, the suspects robbed a wallet and cell phone from a man in front of the Dynamic Book Store along the 50th block of Linden Street, police said.

A third robbery happened a short time later. None of the victims were students, but several said they were worried to hear about the holdups.

"It's just scary that, you know, this can happen around here," said West Chester student Jackie Diamantes. "I haven't said anything to my parents, but my parents are always concerned."

In each case, the men approached the victims and brandished a handgun.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incidents.

The suspects were described as two white males between 5'9" - 6' who were wearing dark clothes.

Police ask anyone with information to contact them.
