Several armed men stormed into the home of the owner of a small business in South Jersey overnight Saturday.
The victim returned to his home on Gray Pebble Circle in Sicklerville, N.J., with his family around 11:30 p.m., according to authorities. Inside, another family member was being held at gunpoint by four or five men, police said.
The other members of the family were tied up, and the intruders ordered the father to surrender money and jewelry, Gloucester Township police said.
Authorities don't know why the family was targeted but it seemed that the armed men knew what they were looking for inside the house, police said.
The men also stole the family's 2000 black Dodge Durango, cops said.
Police were heading to the house because of a residential alarm when the family called police to report the crime, but a search of area did not locate the alleged thugs.
No injuries were reported.
The men wore ski masks, dark clothing and gloves, police said.
