Another Charged in Piazza Double Murder Case

Man charged with murder in NoLibs shooting while already in prison

Another man has been charged with murder in the double shooting at Piazza at Schmidts that happened in June 2009.

Caesar Holloway, 34, was charged with murder, robbery, criminal conspiracy and other offenses in the shooting deaths of Rhian Thal, 34, and Timothy Gilmore, 40, at the Northern Liberties complex, Philadelphia Police say.

Holloway was already in custody at a federal detention center when he was charged Wednesday, though it is unknown why he was already in prison.

Thal and Gilmore were shot to death June 27, 2009 in the hallway of Thal’s apartment building the Navona. The shootings were caught on surveillance video.

Thal, 34, was a party and event planner. She was well known in the city's nightlife and hip hop scene. Investigators say she was also a top-dollar drug dealer and the ambush was set up to steal drugs from her.

Five other men and a woman have already been charged in the attack.
