Angry Girlfriend Burns Down Warehouse: Cops

Police say that 35-year-old Tami Shipp is responsible for Tuesday's warehouse fire in Camden. They also say that the incident is not connected to previous warehouse fires in Camden within the past month.

Police say that a Camden woman is responsible for Tuesdayโ€™s 2-alarm fire at an abandoned warehouse.

Investigators say that Tami Shipp, 35, was squatting in the unused building on 6th Street and Carl Miller Boulevard when she got into an argument with her boyfriend who was using the building as a shelter.

Police say that Shipp set a mattress on fire by igniting paper underneath it with a lit cigarette. She then allegedly walked out of the building without alerting her boyfriend.

The mattress fire spread throughout the building. Firefighters were alerted around 10 p.m. and were able to control the blaze. No one was injured.

Shipp was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated arson. She is currently being held at the Camden County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Authorities say that Tuesdayโ€™s fire is not connected to previous fires in Camden which are being investigated by police and the ATF.

On June 11, an 8-alarm fire broke out at an abandoned garment factory on Broadway and Winslow Street.
