Amtrak Service Resumes After Transformer Fire

Delays still possible on Amtrak and NJ Transit after transformer fire

Trains are rolling again between New York City and Philadelphia, but delays are still possible.

Workers finished repairs after an early morning transformer fire in New Brunswick, N.J. disrupted Amtrak and NJ Transit service along the Northeast Corridor.

Earlier on Monday, Amtrak had stopped all service between New York and Philadelphia. Service has resumed for both Amtrak and NJ Transit, but officials are warning of residual delays.

Officials have not determined the cause of the fire.
