Police Find Mom and Missing Son

Police have located a missing NJ boy and his mother who they believe abducted him.

An amber alert issued for a toddler who was abducted by his mother has been canceled, according to police.

Investigators say 2-year-old Mason Ross and his mother Cassidy Purdy, 24, have been found.

Mason's abduction happened Thursday around 1:10 p.m. at the Hamilton Mall in Hamilton, NJ, according to police.

Police say Mason's father met with Purdy at a Ruby Tuesday restaurant. Purdy does not have custody of the child, according to police.

After Mason's father left to smoke a cigarette, police say Purdy was spotted on surveillance video leaving the restaurant with the boy. She then ran from the west entrance of the mall on foot, according to police. Police also say they believe she traveled to Atlantic City with Mason either by foot or bus.

State Police say Mason and Purdy were found at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry port in Lewes, Delaware around 7:30 p.m. Police say the boy was unharmed. He will remain in custody until he can be returned to his legal guardian, according to authorities.

Purdy was arrested on $75,000 cash bail. She is charged with interference with custody. She remains detained in Delaware pending extradition to Atlantic County.
