Man Stabs Neighbor During Alley Fight: Police

A neighborly dispute ended with one man in the hospital and the other behind bars.

Police say a Wilmington, Del. man stabbed his neighbor during a fight in an alley between their homes.

Wilmington police officers were called to a home on West 23rd Street on Tuesday night for a report of a stabbing. They found a 27-year-old man suffering from a stab wound in his back.

Police say investigators determined that the man had been arguing with his neighbor, 24-year-old Stanley Jones, in the alley between their homes, when the argument turned violent. Police say Jones stabbed the man in the back and fled to his home.

Officers arrested Jones and charged him with second-degree assault and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital and police described his condition as stable.
