Allentown Woman Stabbed to Death; Boyfriend Arrested

Police said a 31-year-old man armed with a knife was taken into custody after he was hit by a stun gun

Allentown police say a man is facing a criminal homicide charge in the early morning stabbing death of his girlfriend.

Police were called to the 400 block of South 18th Street at 1:40 a.m. Saturday after a reported domestic dispute. Investigators entered the home and discovered the body of 31-year-old Lauren Wolstenholme.

Police found the victim's boyfriend, 31-year-old Jonathan Schaffer, armed with a knife in the master bedroom. He was taken into custody after he was hit by a stun gun.

The manner of death has been ruled homicide but the cause of death is pending an autopsy Monday.

Investigators said Schaffer had apparently taken drugs and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown; he was to be arraigned when medically fit.
