Woman Kidnapped, Forced to Shop: Police

One woman's trip to the mall turned into a nightmare.

An Allentown man was arrested Thursday night for allegedly kidnapping  a woman and forcing her to drive him around and buy him clothes.

Police say the victim was walking toward her car at the Lehigh Valley Mall around 7 p.m. when she was approached by 32-year-old Tyquann S. McCord.

McCord told the woman that he had a gun, forced her into her own car and made her drive to an Allentown bank, insisting she withdraw money from an ATM, police said.

The suspect then forced the victim to buy him clothes, according to authorities.

He also stole the victim’s jewelry.

McCord was arrested when a witness called police to report a man with what appeared to be a gun.

He is facing multiple charges including kidnapping and robbery.
