Alleged Beer Distributor Robber Arrested

Sources say the suspect was identified last night and has since been taken into custody.

Police have arrested the man they say burglarized local beer distributors as well as two CVS stores, stealing thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes.

Daniel Haggard, 44, was arrested Friday morning around 8 a.m. while boarding a SEPTA bus, according to Bensalem police.

Over the last few weeks, Haggard has allegedly burglarized four beer distributors and two CVS stores in Bensalem, Lower Southampton Township and Philadelphia.

The most recent robbery was at 4 a.m. Friday at a Bustleton CVS. Police say the suspect made off with 150 packs of cigarettes.

They say around 6 a.m., he stole a nearby van before ditching it and trying to board a SEPTA bus.

Since August 2, Haggard has stolen thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes as well as cameras, cell phones, cash and lottery tickets, according to investigators.
