‘One Cool Criminal': Police Say Older Man Made Off With Air Conditioning Units From Bucks County Business

Lower Southampton Township police say an "older fellow" swiped 3 air conditioning units from a business Sunday night

“One cool criminal.”

That’s how police in one Bucks County community describe an “older fellow” caught on camera casing a business before swiping some air conditioning units and possibly leaving a key piece of evidence behind.

Lower Southampton Township police released surveillance video Wednesday showing the “older fellow” in a ball cap, red T-shirt, gray pants and New Balance sneakers walking around a business on Bridgeton Pike around 9 p.m. Sunday.

The business owner later discovered three air conditioning units and some computer equipment missing, police said. A beer bottle was also left behind.

“Officials feel that the thief enjoyed an alcoholic beverage while committing the theft since it appears he left an empty beer bottle as his calling card,” police wrote in a Crimewatch post Wednesday. “He may also have advanced knowledge in meteorology and knew of the heat wave currently descending upon the local area as reasoning for the crime.”

Police asked anyone who might recognize the man or “know someone that appears to be operating an extraordinary amount of window AC units” to call 215.357.1235.
