Authorities say the mother of a 6-week-old Pennsylvania boy who died after severe abuse has agreed to plead guilty.
The Lancaster Intelligencer Journal reports Wednesday that 24-year-old Brianna Michael of Columbia is scheduled to plead next Monday. The boy, who suffered burns and broken ribs, was found dead in October 2012. Jeffrey Conrad, Michael's attorney, confirmed the deal.
The boy's father, 25-year-old Andrew Moyer Sr., was sentenced to life in prison in October. Moyer provided no motive or reason for the abuse when he pleaded guilty.
Authorities say the infant was abused for at least a week before a final beating caused fatal brain injuries.
Police charged both parents for not preventing or reporting the abuse.
