What started as a walk of the family dog ended with a father and son shot. Carlos and Robert Salas were near 8th and Roosevelt Boulevard in Hunting Park last Tuesday evening when a group of teens flashed a gun at the pair.
Carlos scuffled with the gunman and was shot in the face. Robert was shot in the stomach as he tried to help his father.
"My dad would help anybody and he always said he would always give his life at anytime for his children and he proved it that night," Carlos Salas' son Robert tearfully said. "He was my hero that night."
Carlos died two days later at the hospital. Now police are looking for the public's help in catching the teens.
