Police say a 90-year-old man was hit by an SUV as he tried to cross a street in Wilmington.
It happened about 1:30 p.m. Friday on North Van Buren Street. Officers say the pedestrian was trying to cross the street when he was backed into by an SUV trying to turn into a parking lot. The SUV was being driven by 60-year-old Alicia Galindez-Tanco of Wilmington.
Police say the pedestrian was knocked down and suffered a cut to his head. He is in stable condition at a local hospital.
Officers say charges are pending.
