A man is under arrest for allegedly stalking an 85-year-old woman and attacking her after following her off a bus.
Central Berks Regional Police say 23-year-old William Smith was arrested at his Birdsboro home at around 6:30 p.m. Monday.
About six hours earlier, the woman was headed home after running errands in downtown Reading and was knocked to the ground after getting off her bus.
Authorities say the assailant was captured on video as he followed the woman off the bus in Mount Penn. They say tips came in as soon as the video was shown on television and online.
The victim's name is being withheld, but authorities say she is in stable condition with a head injury.
Police say Smith faces charges including robbery, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
