An 8-year-old boy was struck in a shooting in the Kensington section of the city Monday.
The boy was playing on the 2500 block of North Orianna Street around 1:30 p.m. when an unidentified gunman opened fire. The child was struck once in the left shoulder. Officials have not yet revealed whether he was the intended target.
The boy was taken by private vehicle to St. Christopher's Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.
No arrests have been made. Police have not yet released a description of the suspect.
