8 Dogs Missing After House Fire

Eight dogs are reportedly missing after a fire destroyed a home in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Flames broke out Monday night at the house in Lehman Township, outside Wilkes-Barre.

Joe Coleman, son of one of the homeowners, tells the Citizens' Voice that his mother and stepfather owned eight dachshunds.

Coleman says the couple wasn't home when the blaze erupted. But he says all the dogs were inside the house.

WNEP-TV reports the unnamed homeowner believes the fire started in a wood-burning stove.

Back Mountain Regional Fire Chief Harry Vivian says the home was destroyed. He says the cause is under investigation.
