A 71-year-old man is in stable condition after a gunman opened fire on West Philadelphia home, according to a police source.
Police were called to the 200 block of North Wanamaker Street in Haddington around 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
A source tells NBC10 that Aaron Poindexter was playing cards at his neighbor’s house when a man walked up to the home and opened fire. A bullet grazed Poindexter’s forehead and he was hit in the arm. The suspect ran away, according to the source.
It is not known if Poindexter was the intended target.
Investigators say the victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Police are investigating the shooting.
Sources say Poindexter is known as the neighborhood grandfather and has lived on the block for 28 years.
