Clerk Pistol-Whipped During Robbery

Robbers pistol whipped a Philadelphia convenience store clerk overnight.

According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, two armed men entered the empty 7-Eleven store along the 5200 block of Oxford Avenue in the city’s Frankford section about 3 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk.

Investigators say that the clerk handed over some money.

Despite cooperating, police say that one of the robbers struck the clerk over the head with his gun.

Medics transported the unidentified clerk to Temple University Hospital, according to police.

The suspects ran out of the store onto Oxford Avenue.

Investigators planned to review surveillance video in hopes of figuring out who committed the heist.
