6,000 Without Water After Main Break

More than 6,000 homes and businesses are still without water in Scranton after a water main break earlier this week.

Pennsylvania American Water workers drained the broken 36-inch water main on Thursday afternoon, and are still assessing the problem. It's not clear yet when full service will be restored.

Some customers are also reporting low water pressure, and that's creating worries for businesses that plan on catering to Super Bowl weekend crowds.

Scranton schools were also closed Friday. Five of the city's schools don't have water, and Superintendent William King says some students who attend other schools do not have water in their homes.
