The Transport Workers Union has posted a $5,000 reward for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot a SEPTA bus driver while she was stopped for a break.
The bus driver was shot at about 11 p.m. September 6 at Snyder and Vare avenues. The bus was stationary in a “layover” with the door closed when the gunman approached the bus and tried to board, SEPTA officials say.
When the bus driver told the man that he could not board, as she was on a break, he fired two shots into the bus, according to SEPTA. The 46-year-old driver was shot once in her right arm.
Police say the bus driver drove herself to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.
The suspect is described as a black male, in his late 20s or early 30s, between 5-foot-5-inches to 5-foot-6-inches tall, with a thin build wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
