53 Motorcycles, Scooters Stolen In Middle of Night

Police say the bikes and scooters are being plucked right off the street.

The search is on for thieves who are stealing bikes during the night in Philadelphia.

Since July 1, 39 scooters and 14 motorcycles have been stolen off the streets of our city. Police say that the suspects come out in the middle of the night, steal the bikes and put them right into a white van.

Investigators believe the men take the bikes over the bridge to Camden and sell them. Ten of the stolen scooters were recovered there.

Three more were located in other areas.

Police were able to recover surveillance photos and video from an incident in Northern Liberties and now they're hoping the public can help identify the suspects so that arrests can be made.

One suspect, who investigators say has been involved in multiple thefts, is decribed as a black or hispanic male, approximately 40 years old wearing a long bandana on his head.
