Rail Delays Are Still Lingering in Wake of Storms. How Bad Will Your Commute Be?

Trees down. Power out. Construction: Storms left their mark on regional transit systems lasting into the Wednesday morning commute.

So how will your ride to work be Wednesday?

• Severe Storms With Heavy Downpours Cause Damage, Outages and Delays Throughout Region

Monday night’s severe storms took down a large tree and utility poles that halted service on parts of PATCO and NJ Transit’s Atlantic City Line into the Wednesday commute.

SEPTA’s delays were caused by various issues including mechanical, signal and crossing problems. These delays are in addition to the schedule changes and shuttle buses brought by the Southwest Connection Improvement project.

Here is the latest on rail service in our area:

PATCO

• Trains will operate between 15/16th & Locust station and Woodcrest station ONLY.

• Ashland & Lindenwold Stations remain CLOSED.

• Shuttle buses will operate from Woodcrest to Ashland & Lindenwold Station parking lots.

• "We expect to resume normal schedule with all stations open later this afternoon," PATCO said in a tweet.

NJ Transit – Atlantic City Rail Line

• Atlantic City Rail service remains suspended in both directions between Lindenwold and Cherry Hill.

• NJ TRANSIT rail tickets and passes are being accepted by NJ TRANSIT bus between Lindenwold and Atlantic City.

• Substitute bus service is being provided between Lindenwold and Philadelphia-30th St.

SEPTA

 • Major adjustments to train schedules and shuttle buses are still in effect until Sunday, August 4 due to the Southwest Connection Improvement Program.
