5 Shootings in Less Than 24 Hours

Philadelphia Police are investigating five shootings that happened Saturday night into Sunday morning

It was a violent night in Philadelphia, with five separate shootings taking place in less than 24 hours. Philadelphia Police say three of the shootings were deadly.

No arrests have been made in connection to any of the incidents. If you have information about any of these crimes, call 215-686-TIPS.

On Saturday just before 7 p.m., police responded to a report of "gunshots" on the 2500 block of Sartain Street in North Philadelphia. Police say a 28-year-old man was found in the driver's seat of a minivan with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.

Just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, police got a call about a person with a gun on the 2700 block of Vare Avenue in South Philadelphia. When they arrived on scene, officers found a 37-year-old man who had been shot several times. He was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the 4900 block of North Broad Street in North Philadelphia, where they found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the hip. He is in stable condition. A second victim, a 20-year-old man, is also in stable condition after being shot in the arm.

Close to 2 a.m., police say a 22-year-old man was confronted on the street by a gunman who fired two shots at him. The victim ran into a home on the 1500 block of Federal Street in Southwest Center City where he was found by police. He was pronounced dead at Jefferson University Hospital.

At 3:15 a.m. Sunday, a man in his 20s was shot in the groin and buttocks on the 1200 block of West Cumberland Street in North Philadelphia. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
